Update and Videos: Three home study visits in the bag!

FAMILY TIME

Our family is finally back into the groove of things after the Easter holiday and spring break. On Saturday, Micah and I (Jenn) took our annual trip to Hickory Bluff Berry Farm to pick strawberries, and spent the rest of the afternoon "helping" daddy in the back yard. We made a little video of our adventures!

ADOPTION UPDATE

We have also been working hard to complete all of the paperwork and requirements for our home study update. On Sunday, we completed our final home visit! Woot! We are happy that we have been able to do this quickly!

While approaching our home study for this, our second adoption process, we knew we had an opportunity to help others who are curious about what a home study is. We have been asked this question several times over the ears, and hope to provide some info for curious minds and for any families who may be contemplating adoption in the future. So we sat down with our social worker, Kim Reese, MSW, Certified Adoption Investigator, for a short interview to help answer some frequently asked questions about home studies. We address how to prepare for a home study and common myths about the process.
Thank you again Kim for graciously offering your time!!

At this point, Kim will write our home study and we will be paying the remaining fees in order for her to finalize it and have it approved by SC DSS. After our home study is approved we will begin the process of the immigration application for our girl and gathering documents/taking steps to complete our dossier!

FUNDRAISING

It is still our goal to raise $4000 by month's end. Thankfully Phil's recent bonus from work will help, as we are still preparing our first fundraising events! (God always provides as needed!)

We are working on making the idea for our t-shirt design a reality, and hope to begin that fundraiser soon! Stay tuned!

Our YouCaring crowd fundraiser remains a great way to contribute toward our adoption if you are interested. Any amount no matter how small, and every single share on social media can help us get closer to bringing our girl home! Crowdfunding works well when many people make small donations. Link below!
